Chinese Fire Cupping
Chinese Fire Cupping Training
Traditional Chinese Fire Cupping is one of the most ancient of recorded bodywork techniques known to man. Created initially thousands of years ago in China, Cupping was still practiced in Europe and North America by Medical Doctors up to the 1930’s and is still practiced today in many Eastern European countries. Hippocrates, known as the Father of Modern Medicine (all medical doctors take the Hippocratic Oath today), was a great advocate of cupping.
The human body is the same as it was hundreds and thousands of years ago, but the stressors have significantly increased on human populations around the world.
Fire Cupping, and especially cupping massage, stimulates both circulatory systems simultaneously—blood and lymph. It allows for lymph drainage and for the removal of toxins from the body. When applied over tense, sore muscles, it floods the muscle with lymph, assisting in lactic acid removal.
Cupping stimulates the circulatory system and in particular, causes blood to flow toward the cup, caused by negative pressure inside the cup against the skin’s surface. This powerful influx of fresh blood nourishes tired aching muscles, lubricates muscle fibres and assists in the healing process within the tissue.
When skin is stimulated with cupping massage it facilitates the flow of blood throughout a large area of the skin’s surface to provides a benefit to the whole body.
